I found this growing on a damp old beech log in a logpile. Looked quite pretty, so I thought I'd take a photo or two so I could find out what it is.
Rogers mushroom guide seems to think it is Typhula erythropus, common throughout autumn in deciduous woodland in both Europe and America.
It's also known as the Redleg Club, and it's not edible. There seems to be nothing more to say about it, the internet doesn't say a great deal. Needless to say, it'll be burning on someone's fire somewhere in the coming weeks.
Xylaria anamorph :-)
